The record of conscience

How the light entered

A living record of the launches, corrections and choices that taught the Report to show repair without hiding harm.

The record of power

How the shadow answered

Not mythology. Not private lives. The public work: evidence, named uncertainty, religious equality and the rules that keep the two sides honest.

State of the record

Ten days. A whole newsroom learned to breathe.

The Report began as a two-column religious-history dossier. It became a public family of evidence-led reports, a base-reality newsroom and a set of editorial rules strong enough to survive its own ambition.

The thread

Major turns, not every keystroke.

Each entry records a change in identity, reach, evidence standards or reader experience. “Staged” is kept separate from “public” so the history does not outrun the facts.

Milestone 01Launch

The prototype found its form.

A 100-light / 100-shadow Catholic history dossier proved that praise and scrutiny could occupy the same page without flattening either.

  • Black-and-white editorial layout
  • Top analyses, search, filters and visible methodology
  • Missing source links disclosed rather than invented
Public foundation
Milestone 02Identity

Yin Yang News became The Yin Yang Report.

The name shifted from a feed to a standard: evidence first, uncertainty named, no tradition above scrutiny, and religious equality as the through-line.

  • Monthly editions and a religion-by-religion program commissioned
  • Podcast and subscription concepts added without pretending unfinished systems were live
  • Broken report routes repaired
Public identity
Milestone 03Coverage

The archive jumped from a section to a universe of subjects.

One hundred reports on books, films, television, games, comics and landmark publications went live with claim-level sources and explicit “could not verify” notes.

  • 25 books · 25 films · 20 TV series
  • 15 video games · 15 comics and publications
  • Non-profit-only advertising policy adopted
100 reports public

Milestone 04Design

The visual identity learned balance.

A continuous S-curve joined the light and dark fields. A white-marble / black-onyx mark became the permanent symbol. Reader settings and accessible opposing palettes followed.

  • The split reads as one composition, not two unrelated columns
  • Visit-only settings avoid pretending to save preferences
  • The floating mark is never allowed to cover report text
Brand system established
Milestone 05Scope

“Both sides” expanded beyond religion.

The Report opened a base-reality lane for AI risk and critical infrastructure, beginning with private-project risk and software supply-chain attacks.

  • Threat levels entered the editorial vocabulary
  • Risk methods remained private when publication would create harm
  • SolarWinds and XZ Utils became the first critical-method case studies

Milestone 06Coverage

All 87 religion reports went public.

A correction-heavy verification pass fixed 67 of 87 first drafts before release. Every main-directory “Read report” button was then connected to a real destination.

  • 20 reports passed clean; 67 were corrected
  • No page was padded around unresolved sourcing
  • Three thin-source claims stayed visibly flagged for more work

Milestone 07Expansion

The unmapped traditions got a route in.

Thirty-seven consolidated regional and tradition reports were built and audit-verified to cover 594 previously unmapped records. Publication did not quietly leap the approval gate.

  • 37 new pages completed
  • 594 gaps mapped without inventing extra traditions
  • Approvals remained a separate, visible step
Built and staged · approval pending
Milestone 08Doctrine

Base reality became a bright line.

Journalism was formally separated from comic and personal canon. A subscriber cadence was set for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports about the fight to protect #BaseReality.

  • Public-interest council work may appear only when highly pertinent
  • Private character details and relationships stay out
  • Subscriber reports stay unlisted rather than crowding the public index

Milestone 09System day

The Report became a connected publishing house.

One day produced the locked evidence format, The Zen Spin, named interface pieces, newsroom branches, public legal pages, a mass-approval control room and portrait-width hardening.

  • Nine-outlet fact-check sweep and Pharos marker review formalized
  • “The Seal” and “chameleon” became official interface terms
  • Contact, FAQ, Privacy, Terms and Cookie pages went public
  • A 129-page footer tree and phone-safe CSS were prepared across the source fleet

No milestone wears that label yet. The record refuses to invent one.

Editorial constitution

The rules that cannot be decorative.

These are operating standards, not slogans. They define what qualifies as a Yin Yang report and what must happen before a marker, verdict or status can appear.

Base reality only

Yin Yang journalism does not publish fictional storylines, personal canon or private character relationships.

Locked · 9 Oct

Two sides ≠ false balance

The structure surfaces competing evidence and arguments. It does not make unequal evidence look equal.

Standing standard

Every claim gets a trail

Referenced articles appear inside the relevant block and again in a complete source collection at the bottom.

Locked · 10 Oct

Nine-desk verification

Claims are checked across Snopes, PolitiFact, FactCheck.org, Reuters, AP, AFP, Full Fact, BBC Reality Check and Lead Stories.

Locked · 10 Oct

No-coverage is not a verdict

If the cohort has no dedicated fact-check, the record says exactly that. Silence is never dressed up as confirmation.

Locked · 10 Oct

Markers pass the gate

Alert and #BaseReality Approved badges require Pharos review. Importance alone cannot mint a badge.

Locked · 10 Oct

Risk must be visible

Threat rails color every item; severe titles carry a High Risk flag. Severity stays separate from publication status.

Locked · 10 Oct

Status stays honest

Public, awaiting review and not shared publicly yet are distinct states. A built page does not become “live” by narration.

Names that stuck

A newsroom needs a little character.

These names describe real pieces of the publishing system. They keep a large project memorable without turning the journalism into lore.

Hero mark

The Seal

The large marble-and-onyx yin-yang mark. It opens The Zen Spin and carries the hover invitation.

Adaptive markers

Chameleon

The small yin-yang badges that change color by context: progress, pressure, approval or alert.

Weekly reader ritual

The Zen Spin

A playful, sourced juxtaposition of progress and pressure — designed to turn tension into a moment of perspective.

Editorial cadence

Yin Yang Night

The Sunday review point for outgoing material, the next week’s pairings and the private editorial checklist.

Systems newsroom

The Uptime Report

The operational-resilience lane: outages, attacks, dependencies and what fails when infrastructure goes quiet.

Subscriber record

Fight for Base Reality

The weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual record of threats, responses, verified wins and unresolved risk.

Current docket

What is public, staged and watched.

This is a dated snapshot, not a promise that unfinished work is already available. The next revision should move an item only after its build and publication status are verified.
